battery percentage?

how do i know how much battery is left? forgive me for a somewhat simplistic question but im really boggled here.... i keep trying to tap the battery and it wont tell me anything... looked through settings and i cant seem to find anything either....

do warnings just pop up or can you actually tell somewhere how much battery life you have left?

If you have jailbroken your iphone get the Bigboss prefs app from Cydia , download it and go pen up the app. Then go to more and press disable numeric battery, press the home button and the phone will reset, when done you should have a numeric battery icon in the upper right rather than the old one. Ive used it for a while and it works great.

Warnings pop up at 20% & 10%. That's as low as I've gone, there may be others.

thats as low as it gets i think, after it just shows the red power sign n a lil arrow. wont work til plugged in.
