Hi Guys,

Off lately I am using my iPad Pro 11” very extensively so was just wondering if this is taking too much toll on the iPad Pro Battery. My Battery Cycle Count is about 57 and iMazing says my Battery Count is 58 so I don’t know who to believe ? (Screenshot AAttached) Also iMazing says my battery health is about 103% which is kind of heartening.

At the same time I came across this guy on YouTuber
who says when the Battery Cycle count seems to come about the 500 Cycle count then is the time maybe you should start worrying about your battery performance that is when you battery may not be performing to its optimum and you may want to thin about replacing your batter then ?

is this true guys at the 500 Battery Cycle Count the battery performance has already degraded and that is the time you should also think about replacing your iPad Pro battery ?

what are your thoughts on this ?

Apple has it listed on their website. It is not a "Magic Figure". https://www.apple.com/batteries/service-and-recycling/

Ok the above Apple link says for iPad it is 1000 Battery Cycles. And if i understand correctly it says after 1000 artery Cycles the Battery will only work about 80% does that mean that it will also get only charged 80% even when charged fully ? is that what it means ?

here is what it says...

iPad Owners
Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles.

1000 complete charge means that if you charge yor ipad from 0% to 100% your battery will last 1000 days. Something less than 3 years. Are lithium battery, not a Chernobyl nuclear reactor.

I don’t know what you know about lithium battery, but first of all you have to know about the difference about charge (0-100% when you charge the battery) and capacity (in mAh, this one decreased during time and use of the battery. All the manufacturers say that every battery has got X cycles of charge before the capacity go down under 80%. When the lithium battery capacity is under 80% the battery is not in optimal range and your charge will last less then previuos time. To understand, with AC+, if your battery is under 80% Apple will replace it.

After falling under 80% of capacity, battery time will decreased with non-linear pattern.

Please, if something in english isn’t correct forgive me, isn’t my first language.

My question is simple, after say 1000 Battery Cycle Count Apple says your battery will only hold 80% of its capacity but when I keep the battery for charging it will still get charged 100% right / even after completing 1000 Battery Cycle. So how will I know and where can I see that the battery is now holding only 80% of its capacity. is there any place where I can see ? will it be in battery health ? where it will say Battery Health 80% is that what it means ?

Sadly unlike on iPhone, there’s no way to check battery health from the iPad itself. You need to connect it to mac / windows and run app like these to check

osx: CoconutBattery
Win: 3utools

edit: sorry just read your original post. Your battery health is 103% which is great and normal. From my experience, new battery almost always gone above 100% the specification. With more cycle count it will drop.

So when Apple says that after 1000 Battery Cycle Counts your battery will only hold power upto 80% that is which I have to look in Battery Health and see if it is showing 80% or what ?

After 3 months of using the IpadPro I am down to 95% with 24 cycles (dont discharge it/fully charge much). Can other Ipad Pro users (in general, no specific year) chim in on their battery health? Im not worried about my battery life, just curious how the ipad battery has held up.

That seems pretty low. For reference, my iPhone 11 is 1 yr old and probably has gone through at least 100 full cycles and per battery health, it still reads 100%. My wife’s phone that’s 2 years old is still at 97%.

Yea, i was surprised at how fast it has degraded considering it only has 20ish cycles and never stays plugged in. My Iphone has 707 cycles with 89.5% battery health. I think once applecare+ expires in two years, I will replace the device citing battery issues. I think my Iphone battery health will decrease alot more now, started fast charging this past week and cant find a 12watt USB-c cable anywhere, so 18watt it is.

The apple pencil loses so much juice so quick on the other hand.
