Hi,
I've had my iphone for a while now (firmware 1.1.1), and it used to go for up to 3 days (maybe more) with a full charge. For the past few days, I found myself charging it twice, and starting yesterday, three times a day. Very weird for an apple device, and definitely strange for a relatively new cell phone.

My usage is very moderate. I rarely use it for other than phone calls. I keep it charging overnight, and within 6 hours of unplugging, the bar is red. What could be the problem? Could it be that I am outside of the US and the charging voltage is different? I find it highly unlikely, but have no idea what might be causing this. If the battery was defective, it would have shown early on.
I deactivated anything that might be draining the battery, but the problem still persists. Any thoughts would be highly appreciative. thanks.

Im in egypt right now. yes im using the same charger, but its universal 120-240V. Plus, there are alot of people here who have iphones, and have no problems charging it(i even got my dad one before i left the states, and his works perfectly). So i really dont know. It's just cant be that the battery life's cycle is ending. No way. I've had my ipod for 2 and half years and the battery still lasts a very long time.

London, UK
have you installed any third party applications? maybe they are eating into the battery...

is ssh on?

maybe you've moved to an area where the signal is weaker. When im in central london my battery last two days. when i go home to my parents, where there is no edge or gps, the iphone is constantly searching for the network, which uses up more battery - meaning it lasts about a day....

if you haven't tried it all ready, let the iphone drain completely and then charge it up.

Yes I do have third party apps. But again, I dont use them often, nothing different than before. I am in Cairo, signal is always very powerful.
I did try to calibrate the battery a la macbook pro. Drain it, then charge it for a very long time. Again, nothing seems to be working.
