Battery Question?

I have a like new Ibook G4 I bought recently, the battery in still holding a great charge, I wanted to know, I don't wanna kill the battery, so when I'm using my mac at home, what should I do, should I leave the battery in and use it or plug it in always, or can I take the battery out and use the mac, also if I use it at home and keep it plugged in, will it overcharge the battery and kill it?

Many threads on this subject. To summarize:

1.) Leaving your iBook plugged in will NOT overcharge the battery. It will slowly cycle down to around 96% charge and "top off" from time to time, but this is not considered a cycle and will not be recorded as such.

2.) When you do use the battery, it's a good idea to run it down as far as possible.

3.) Check Apple's support site for instructions on how to recalibrate your battery, and do this every month or two.
