Is it worth installing a battery percent hack via Cydia or via the MA86.plist (I forgot the exact name) method?

I've tried both and all they seem to do is disable the MMS hack and make my iPhone act glitchy.

After the .plist method my screen turns itself on and off while the iPhone is locked. Kind of annoying.

Any advice?

why no sbsettings?
and if it's a 3gs you can enable it in the settings

Doesn't have to be 3gs, my friend did it on my 3g as well. One of the settings for SBSettings is battery percent and so far it's running smooth for me.

I installed Show Battery Percentage patch from Cydia and it seemed to cause issues with MMS and my iPhone's lockscreen turning on and off by itself UNTIL I uninstalled it. The percentage is next to the battery, yet the problems are gone. :) :D

pick one...some free, 1 has a charge, but gives extra features.

SbSettings
asBattery
Battery Control (free for basic % and removal of the battery icon)

im using battery control, i wanted to remove the battery and show just the %

paid features are..

1- Tap the battery icon to switch between battery and %
2- Control the color of the number or battery if chargin or running low
3- allows you to change or removal the % symbol and show just the number, nice to free up Status bar space
