My 2017 13 inch MBP just had its battery replaced at Apple. I noticed that following the replacement there is a bit of an irritating chemical smell from the keyboard/top case area. I don't recall it being like this before the battery was replaced, and I don't recall it from when it was new. Is this normal for a battery replacement?

They have replaced the whole top case including the keyboard so it's got a bit of that "new computer smell."
It'll go away in time.

This is more or less what I was going to say. I kind of enjoy the new computer smell! When I do something to get my fans spinning on my MBP, I still get a faint whiff of it because I haven't had the computer for very long. It's getting less and less over time though.
