Anyone ever had their PBP (or Air Pod) batteries replaced at the Apple Genius Bar? Mine are about 3 years old with heavy use, and they are getting wonky with regards to charge life. I maybe get 20-40 minutes out them. Apple charges $79 for the service, and I hate the idea of tossing them away. I have new AirPods Pro 2, but really prefer the Beats for running and the gym, as they fit so much more secure.

Battery replacement means recycling the old ones and giving you new ones. It's not physically possible to remove the battery without damaging it. It's a piece of molded plastic.

That would be worth it. I have watched the repair videos and it looks really hard to replace the battery without doing some damage as you say.

I think ifixit did a few videos showing this. Everyone wants replaceable batteries and repairability but the same people are complaining about the price of AirPods. If they could somehow make it where you remove screws to replace the battery that would add to the cost.
