Hi all

I did ask this in the iphone forum but didn't get a response so thought maybe best to ask here:

Has anyone managed to get a battery replaced whilst their phone is jailbroken by Apple, I'm fully aware that Jailbreaking voids warranties etc, but as I'm out of warranty and know I will have to pay I can't see what their problem would be? (Unless changing the battery requires a software reset)as far as I know its a simple replacement and you get the same phone back,

I dont want to do it myself for a couple of reason, OEM parts, completely cocking it up etc so would prefer to pay apple £55 and get them to do it, i suppose the only problem i can see is that they usually then offer a warranty on the replacement battery which would be void straight away

Cheers

Your iPhone model? Some models are comparatively easy to be manually dismantled. I've exchanged the batteries in several different 3GS'es without problems. (And during this I've shot several pretty frightnening shots of swollen 3GS original batteries after about three and a half years of service - so much for the " legendary Apple quality"... See http://www.flickr.com/photos/33448355@N07/sets/72157633931601917/ )
