This typically only happens when charging in the car. What I have to do at times is unplug it for a few moments, plug it back in and this USUALLY fixes the problem. It doesn't happen often, just sometimes

For me, I just recalibrate my battery by letting it get below 20% and then fully charging it back to 100% without interrupting the charge cycle. I also use battery doctor to log my charge cycles. I get incredible battery life.

I pretty much never charge my phone unless it is below 10%, usually wait till it shuts off.

What does battery doctor actually do?

I'm not sure if it does anything tangible. I use it to keep track of my full cycle logs (where I let the battery drop below 20% and then I fully charge it). It also has a "trickle charge" feature but I doubt it's usefulness. Maye it works maybe it doesn't but I mainly use the app to log the full charge cycle and also to remind me once a moth to perform the full charge.

As an aside, I try not to let my battery drain all the way down every single day but simultaneously I try to avoid charging it all the way to 100% and if I do reach 100% I only let it stay on the charger for about 20-30 minutes. I've read numerous times that keeping it for hours at 100% on the charger actually damages the battery.

I hardly ever charge the phone via a USB port. I'm almost always using a wall charger. Not sure if that matters. But eithe way, this is how I've used all my iPhones and I've never had battery issues.
