Battery Usage with Streaming Audio Apps

When I use any streaming audio app on EDGE (Pandora, AOL Radio, Stitcher), I see horrible battery performance. Granted, I'm using an iPhone 2G, but the phone still does very well under general usage & standby.

As I use these apps often, I'm just trying to poll what others are seeing before I consider an out-of-warranty battery replacement.

i wouldnt expect over 3 hours of constant edge streaming on my phone without it going to 10-20% mark

I use the XM Sirius app allot. Usually within the first hour, the battery will drop about 10%. When the phone starts getting hot, it will drop allot faster. Even when plugged in, the phone will discharge when it gets hot using this app. I'm sure this happens with all streaming apps. This is on a 3G and 3GS phone.
