Since "upgrading" my software to 10.2, my phone has been a nightmare. I have a 32gb iPhone 6 that worked flawlessly until this update.

Now I have a phone that shuts off & dies during calls at around 50% battery life, battery went from 60% to currently 33% for no reason.

So many are having issues.....
WHY WON'T APPLE SEND OUT A NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX THIS?!

If you live near an Apple Store, go in and speak to a genius. If not, call Apple. This is not anything common.

I did and unfortunately, they could only offer to sell me a new phone at full retail price. This was my boyfriend's previous phone, my phone had broken and I'm not ready for an upgrade, so I have been using this phone for the last 8 months with no issues.

I'm convinced this is a software issue and not a phone/battery issue since it only started since I did the 10.2 update.

That's very strange that they wouldn't try to help you solve the problem. If you really believe it's a software issue, consider connecting the phone to iTunes, backing it up, and restoring it to factory settings. Then you can set up the phone again either from scratch or from a backup of your phone as it currently is.

Given that so many people don't have this problem, it's more likely to be something wrong with your specific setup rather than something universal. Could be the hardware, a stuck process in the background, a badly coded app or one in need of update, or your copy of 10.2 was corrupted somehow during the update.

Have you tried restoring the phone as NEW (not from backup) and used it for a few days with only the bare minimum of what you need on it?

My iPhone 5s started doing this a few months ago. It got progressively worse, to the point where the battery would be at 100% while plugged in, and plunge straight to 1% as soon as I unplugged it. It would then stay at 1% for a few hours, then die on me without even being used. Then a few weeks ago it just stopped ever booting up - I can plug it in, it will display the charging icon, but even after hours of charging it won't even boot with the power cable still plugged in.

I since learned that one of the major factors affecting battery health is overheating, i.e. leaving it out in the sun or in an overheating car. Being too cold causes temporary power loss, being too hot causes permanent damage.

I have the similar issue.
Battery life goes to hell. Taking a few photos (fewer than 10) could drain battery from 70% to 30% in 20 minutes.
I have iOS 10.2.1 b2. And I am also waiting for a newer version software.

Had this same exact issue with both my mine and my mother's Phone 6's. It really seemed like it was a software issue since it first started after the iOS 10.1 update. However, I found an Repair shop nearby that was offering batteries for a discount so of course I didn't refuse. The problem went away after that.
I would suggest calling Apple Support and getting a diagnosis check first just in case. The guy I spoke with did it three times to be sure.

Is it the shutdown issue because of your battery?

Wrong. He meant 64GB, Apple didn't sell the 32GB iPhone 6. Just 16, 64 and 128 GB.
