I have a PowerBook G4 867 MHz, 640 MB DDR SDRAM running OS X 10.3.9

2 problems:

1. My battery never shows the remaining time when I click on the icon it shows Calculating... remaining forever.

2. When running on battery only (without the charger) as soon as it hits 90% or so, my computer goes to sleep. I can't do anything until I connect the charger cord and then it shows 0% charge. After some time charging it will skip to the higher percentages such as 80% and higher.

From 100% down to the 90% (on battery only) I have a good 30-45 minutes. After that it just drops like it's hot.

Appreciate any opinions.
Thanks

Have you calibrated your battery recently?

Batteries are a consumable item and wear out after a while. New PowerBook batteries cost about $150 new - could be time to get a new one.
