I am pretty sure this will be like my iPhone, but just to be sure, any secrets to best battery life for the Pad? Such as should I drain it then power it up? Or should I just use it right out of the box, not worry about draining the power and all that?
Thanks....

The only reason to fully discharge and recharge the iPad is to reset the limits on your battery % gauge to make it more accurate.

These batteries are a lot more advanced than the older NiCad batteries that had charge "memory" issues.

And yeah, really amazing battery life was one of the nice pluses I wasn't expecting. The 10+ hours is no exaggeration.

Thanks

Yeah I figured that with my iPhone, just wanted to double check. Better safe then sorry....
I also agree how amazing this battery is, just imagine what they will be like in 5 years.

Coming from the days of draining your battery about 10 times before you can use it I always think about that first. It drove me nuts, still does obviously .... Hopefully I will get used to the "new" way.

I've noticed 40-50% improvement in my iPhone battery after purchasing an iPad. There have even been a couple days where I didn't charge my iPhone at night and was still fine. That has never happened to me before. At first I was scared, but then I got used to it. I usually only have to charge my iPad every couple days too. The battery life on my 4g iPhone is going to be ridiculous.

The iPad is essentially a battery with a small computer attached to it. Hell of a design. The various Macbook lines are starting to look similar. Wish I had the new unibody with 10hr battery life. Next year I will...and probably with 12 hours.

Battery life is the exact opposite of the iPhone -- fantastic. However apps with the push feature turned on are battery killers. Make sure you turn them off by pushing the home button before putting your iPad to sleep.

Generally you should easily get 8-10 hours.
