Has anyone actually played this (via Bootcamp)? I played it on the Xbox and loved it, and was considering getting the PC version. But from what I've read online a) EA closed the servers down a couple years ago and b) Sony no longer owns the license for the LotR franchise so the game can't be officially marketed. I don't see how either of these things could prevent me from buying the game and playing it offline, right?

I've found used copies for sale but I'd rather not spend the money if it won't work.

Fantastic game! I used to run it on my iMac through bootcamp before getting my Pro.

It will run fine in single player modes - campaign, skirmish and a risk style world map. Its worth checking out the mods and extra maps you can get online. Some people have done full conversions adding extra characters and units.

Have you played BMFE1? If you have, dont let it put you off! One was much more restricted in terms of population limit and recourses.

How much have you found it for online? I bought it for £30 when it first came out, that was the limited edition one which came with a map and a couple of extra units.

The price varied wildly, anywhere from ~$30 to over $130! I'll definitely check into the mods as well, thanks for the heads up!
