Battlefied 2142: Gamepads

Is it possible to map looking around as infantry to a gamepad's analog stick?
I can't seem to figure it out.

I'm a console gamer and I neeeeeed a gamepad.

It is a computer and a first person shooter that requires "aiming" (ever heard of that?).

Get used to it, learn to use the mouse and keyboard and you'll see how much better it is, really.

What is everyone's problem with the OP's intention to use a gamepad? Sure, the gamepad won't be as easy to control without the semi-automatic targeting some console games have, but the OP is familiar with that style of controller.

Some people just don't work well with mice, you know.

The thing is, Battlefield's control scheme is fairly complex and would probably map rather poorly to the gamepad.
