Battlefield 2142 good game to buy ?

I was looking to purchase a new battle field game for my mac as i am getting bored of my xbox 360 games. but is Battlefield 2142 a good game to buy as i see there is a lot of problems with startup etc please help.

I set it up fine on my mac and its a great game. I was new to the BF series also.
