Battlefield 2142 Question

I was thinkin about getting battlefield 2142 for mac but i have heard that it is really buggy out of the box is it buggy with the new 1.4 patch?

it's a little bit better, but i didn't see significant improvements. On the other hand, it doesn't crash for me as much as it used to, but that started to get better even before the 1.4 patch. It still crashes sometimes though.

The performance is very poor though, even at low settings. And you can't even purchase the expansion pack for mac (because it's obviously a good idea to port a game but not it's expansion pack, especially when the expansion pack would be ridiculously easy to port at this point).
