I really like my "prestigious" @mac.com address, but I find myself giving out my Gmail address more often because my .Mac address seems to be untamable.

What I have done so far:

I cleared out and sorted through over 3,000 messages leaving just a few in my inbox.

Everytime I got junkmail after doing this I marked it as such. After two days, I had 81 junk mail messages and bounced them to the sender. About a 3/4 of them came back to me right away, but at least some worked.

I was keeping it very tame, but after a couple days of being gone, I have over 200 messages, from a quick glance all but ten of them are spam.

I think because I tend to look at details very closely, I am very careful about going through all the junk mail to make sure none of it is real. So doing e-mail takes up more time than I'd like.

Is there something more I can do?

Have you been giving your address to porn sites? :p ;) Just kiddin', fella...but seriously, have you blatently posted it anywhere easily-accessible on the internet? I made the mistake of having my email address in a "mailto:" link on a website, and that's when I started getting spammed. Thankfully, Mail takes care of it fairly easily. It just sorts everything nicely so that all junk is labelled as such and thrown in the junk folder. Just hit [CMD]-[OPT]-[J] to empty.

Since you have a .Mac account, is there any easy way you could just change your address to a new one?
