I'm looking into buying the new BB 9700, and currently own an iPod Touch (1G).

My question is, has anyone here had an experience with using the BB and also having an iPod Touch? Did you missed sometimes having an iPhone instead?

I'm undecided. I know I'm an Apple fan, and I've wanted an iPhone for a looong time. But the BB also looks very good, and most of my friends have one (BB Messenger looks great).

i've had a blackberry and an ipod touch. it was the best of both worlds. The blackberry vs the iphone when just looking at what a phone should be able to do, the blackberry knocks the socks off the iphone. It's when you start throwing in a big screen and apps where people want the iphone over the berry. I did the touch and the berry thing for a year and it was great! I've now decided to sell the Touch and buy and iphone, only for the reason of not having to carry two devices. That's really the only advantage you would see by buying an iphone. You'd have have both devices in one. Go try out the bold 9700 you will love it. if you don't mind carrying two devices then the bold 9700 and and ipod touch would make you extremely happy!

also keep in mind iphone has no multitasking! Blackberry does! so if you want to listen to music, watch a video, play some games, surf the web you're **** outta luck if you only have the iphone. if you had both you can have your ipod play the video, music, or app and have your blackberry for calls, texts, or emails withough missing a single beat of what you're doing.

I went back and forth over this and the only advantage of buying an iphone is so you can have your stuff all on one device and that's why im switching. If you don't mind carrying the touch and the berry then get the berry you will love it! also keep in mind the sound on the blackberry is leaps ahead of the iphone, so you can use that to play music as well.

Thanks for the comments.

I think I can cope with carrying the iPod with me and the BB. Right now I do the same, just that instead of a BB I have a tedious (tho very reliable) Nokia N78.

I really don't see myself using the media capabilities in the BB, the iPod makes a much better job in these things. I just don't know if I'll miss the browser in the iPhone, and some of the apps. And with the new iPhone coming up, it just makes the matter worse.

I could buy the BB now, and hopefully I'll be able to get it with just a 1 year contract, and then if the new iPhone is much better I can buy it in a year.

I think the only addition to the iPhone that would really make it perfect is adding the BB messenger. But I don't see this happening.:(

have you gone to att and played with the 9700? I'd recommend you do that. I think you would love it. The blackberry and app world have some really good apps, but keep in mind the blackberry is more of an adult oriented phone so you won't see ridiculous apps like "push this button" as the highest paid app. but you will see alot of great apps that work great in appworld. You need to decide what you want out of your phone. If your goal is to just simply have a cool phone, with a big screen for web browsing then get an iphone. I just think it's ridiculous that people buy a phone with web browsing as their #1 priority. that's not what phones are made for. For the same price you can buy a netbook and have real web browsing, multi-tasking, media, and just about anything you want out of it. Consider what is important for you. If your main purpose of a phone is to just make calls and send text with friends and browse the web when you're board then get an iphone.
