Keep an eye on the new BBC Earth channel on the Itunes store...

There are 3 shows right now, Galapagos is in HD. And it is amazing.

Anyone who enjoyed planet earth might want to check it out...

...the HD version is worth every penny...

Hopefully, we'll have the BBC version of Planet Earth in HD soon...

Planet Earth is in the iTunes store in HD for £24.99 for 11 episodes (£17.99 for SD) That seems like good value, how much is it on Blu-Ray?

Amazon.co.uk Planet Earth 5 disk Blu-Ray £24.98

Also play.com has the following 2 Blu-rays in their 2 for £22 offer:-

Earth: The Power of the Planet(2 disk) original price £12.99
Earth (Fearture length version of the TV sereis) original price £17.99

Thats a saving of £8.98

OK so Apple version 720p @ £24.99 or Blu-ray 1080p @ £24.98

Oh and lets not forget that most Blu-rays contain extras you dont get from Apple eg. Commentary tracks, Special features etc + its much better quality.

So yep Blu-ray must be pointless.........

And what difference does it make if it`s been out for 2 years? Were talking about if someone wanted to buy the series at this point in time which would be better value Apple 720p @ £24.99 or Blu-ray 1080p @ £24.98.

I just carn`t see how that makes "BRD pointless and irrelevant"

Sorry :( I'd seen it on iTunes the other day and thought it looked like a good buy. I haven't got a Blu Ray player, just wondered how the price compared.

TV shows seem to keep their value much longer than films no matter how old they are don't they?
