Hi all

I know this has been discussed but from threads I've read it all gets a bit complicated for someone not very savvy when it comes to these things :)

I've got an iPhone 4 and Apple TV 2, all on latest software versions. BBC iPlayer streams audio but not video over AirPlay from phone to TV. My question is really simple - is this just because the video on iPlayer is not "presented" in such a way that AirPlay can use it? I've read on other threads that video has to be AirPlay enabled in the code (or something to that extent), so is it just that this doesn't work or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance and sorry for my lack of understanding in these matters!!

Airplay has to be enabled and the BBC hasn't done it. Nor have Channel 4 on their iPad app, or any US broadcasters on theirs.

I think you can assume a pattern there, but you're not doing anything wrong.

I didnt even know there was a channel 4 ipad app.

Its an issue with the latest updates, applications can do it, but some just havent been updated to yet. I imagine it will happen eventually.

BBC content is available on the iTunes store, but alas, you have to rent or buy it.

After downloading (like say, season 3 of Being Human, one of our favorite shows), you turn on Home Sharing to the PC or Mac is was downloaded to, and can Airplay it then.

Thanks for the replies - maybe one day it'll work, that would be such a great addition to the service offering as it stands as far as I'm concerned!
