Im sitting outside the AT&T store as most know....Been here since about 11. Another SUV with 3 guys waiting beside me are here to buy 3 phones and then head to apple store to get 6 more to sell on ebay.. They might not make it far though..About 15 minutes ago their car died and cant get it restarted. HAHAHAHAH....They have been watching movies all night and the battery is fried. THey had the balls to ask the security gaurd for a jump

So go prepard...I have 1/2 tank left and extension cord for the laptop while waiting by the door...

Oh by the way No jumper cables though

Cars don't have tailpipe emissions when they aren't running.

Car batteries will not die while the car is running...that is what the alternator is for.

Long story short, The engine was off. They were just using the car battery.

Oh, well, while the OP didn't actually say the car was running they didn't deny it when the subject was raised, so I assumed it was. But in any case, the practice was condoned by others on this list so my comments still stand to them.

Okay... maybe so but then how would you classify owning a dishwasher, hair dryer, washing machine, leaf blower?

What I'm saying is I'd like to see a list of APPROVED abusive devices and a list of UNACCEPTABLE ones... Oh yea, I'd also like to know who was blessed with the ability to make the list in the first place.

I think this is just the kind of viewpoint I was talking about. You seem to be implying that because such a list cannot be written we shouldn't bother thinking anymore about it and just do as we please. But that isn't the case. We should do what we can, even though we can't do everything. Everyone doing what they can adds up to a lot.

Hey... If they don't sell out of iPhones then all this eBay purchasing will be for nothing... Why bid more for one when you can just drive to the AT&T or Apple store on Monday?

I think it was Jobs that said in that last minute interview that they produced three million, and have spread around one million of them for opening day.
