My friend purchased a new iMac quad core i5 2.8gzh online on day one of its release. He just received it yesterday (Friday). It contained the old 2.66ghz processor.

What makes this even stranger is that the video card was the new 1GB and not the old 528MB card.

He will be able to return it without a problem, but it makes you wonder what is going on with the older i5 having the newer video card.

Did Apple not plan to release the new iMacs as soon as they did and therefor have to re-assemble, previously assembled inventory?

Any way you might want to double check your specs to make sure they match.

BTW it shipped from PA.
