Hi All,

Ok, no MacBook or iPad onto the beach itself.

But sand will be everywhere.

Back at place staying, sitting on bench outside/inside - just have to expect sand etc. being on surfaces.

Are the below, or the equivalent, any good?

If fits for old mba, surely would fit for m1 2020 mba's USC-C and earphone jacks?!

Any other suggestions? :)

Hope you can advise
Martin

Leave the computer at home...

or don't leave home.

Anything else is a recipe for disaster.

Sand is bad for computers.
Sun is bad for computers.
Water is bad for computers.

If one person out of a million takes a computer with them to the beach... what does that tell you?

If you just leave the MacBook and iPad at the place you’re staying at you should be okay. Just follow the basic guidelines of common sense and you’ll be okay. If you think having those protectors will give you a bit more peace of mind then go for it. Regardless I think you should be okay so long as those devices don’t actually go onto the beach itself.

Second this, you're not going to go straight from the beach to your mac when you arrive back home, you'll shower / wash etc. Chances of sand / dirt ingress are pretty low.

But don't take your ipad or mb there, I take a phone at best, but even then, you can't take it into the sea (well i assume you can't because of the salt). Take a break from electronics, enjoy your trip pal !

People need to calm down. They ain't taking the computer to the beach...after much peer pressures from the MR crowd.? They're asking if those plugs would be good since they expect the cabin will be have a dusting of sand everywhere. Open air, beachside cabin? I'm jealous.?

I'd read the reviews. 4 stars look like a good rating, but seems kinda expensive for what you accomplish gaffer's tape or painter's tape.* Tape over the ports, done and done. It might be worthwhile if you plan on using them often.

*I've got rolls of these tapes all over the garage, so it's a cheap alternative for me.

Hi Mousse,

That's a great idea! :)

I have rolls of electrical tape, which doesn't leave sticky messes after them....

The M1 mba may not need charging at all during the week the rate its going even ?

Cheers

When I take my iPhone to the beach, pools, or other hazardous places I will put it into a zip lock bag. Cheap, easy, and good protection. I rarely sit out on a beach. I’m usually either swimming or walking my dog along the beach. I leave my iPad back where I’m staying for reading later.
