Any of you have some nice beach photos you can post? I used to live 7 miles from the beach in California and now I miss it being in a landlocked state. Here is one shot I took with a Canon Powershot.

Do you purposely skip answering questions you find uncomfortable? No one ever asks you anything crazy or rude or even suspect, but I have noticed time and time again when you post a thread, you pick and choose who you respond to. Maybe not by who posts the response, but the content of the response. And yet you call the responders to your posts disrespectful.

Let me give you a lesson in forum etiquette. When you post a question and someone gives you an answer, the respectful thing to do is acknowledge it.

There are often beach images in the POTD threads. Do you ever read those?
Sample answer: No, that hadn't occurred to me. I will browse through that and see if I can find any I like.

OR

Sample answer: Yes, I know about those but I was hoping to have a thread solely about beach photos, sort of like how you guys just started that one on panoramas.

It’s great you are posting images. I’d suggest a great place to post would be the “Picture of the Day” threads as others have mentioned.
Sample answer: Thanks, this is from an old camera but I will consider posting to the POTD thread.

Seriously, if you want people to respect you and answer your posts respectfully, you have to give that respect first by acknowledging the answers you do receive, even if you don't agree with them. The photo forum is literally one of the nicest forums I have ever joined over the past 15 years and you just are rude with a lot of us.

I live next to a beach here are some photos taken earlier this year when we had snow, not a frequent sight in Greece. Last picture with the abandoned boat was taken on another occasion at another area near my house. All shot with an iPhone 12 Pro Max without post processing.

He may have some of us in the community on an ignore list. For the first time ever I’m going to return that favor. He seems to drive that behavior here :). All of his posts, including the threads he starts, go away as if by magic. Life’s far too short to put energy into useless things.

Yes, that thought occurred to me, and I am guessing at this point that I am on his ignore list, although he has ignored other of my posts and then after calling him out on it finally acknowledged me.

Funny that he would ignore the two of us given that you are so knowledgeable and my worst transgression here is being the serial Liker.....

Let's just hope that he doesn't join the weekly competition and then have half of us on ignore. ?

Any “knowledge” I have comes from the wonderful people like your good self in this community. I truly learn something here each day. :) That’s why I get frustrated when people blatantly throw it away. Like you said, not everyone has to agree or is even expected to. Just listen. Acknowledge when appropriate or if of interest. Really simple stuff.

I admit to sometimes being a drive-by poster here, but I'm a camera nut who sometimes pretends to be a competent photographer(and occasionally is successful...the whole blind squirrel thing) and also enjoys sometimes taking an obscenely difficult path to create a mundane image.

Still, though, I agree this is not only the friendliest subforum on this site, but also friendlier than most photo sites I've been a member of.

So, with that in mind, the next time I'm at the beach, and I don't know when that will be, if my wife will suffer me(probably not) I'll drag my Calumet Monorail out and shoot a few sheets of film. Oh, that reminds me too that I really should get in touch with that guy in Japan and get a couple more boxes of Velvia 50 since they don't import that to the US and my 25 year old stuff is getting iffy. Of course I haven't tried the new Ektachrome in sheets, so maybe I should try that. In any case, after I do that I'll need to spend a day locked in the bathroom developing it. Scanning? Forget my flatbed-now that drum scanners are affordable I should get one. I only need the space and optimistically 6 months to learn how to use it.

That's fine, I mean I shared them to a public forum so it doesn't bother me.

I hope to visit these places again one day and see how my 11 compares. :)
Thanks. Will do.

I've also visited Cromer - I even took a photo with my iPhone of the beach ;) I'll try to find that.
