I have a new MacBook Pro 15" running Mac Os 10.13.6. If I open Safari and try to go to the Safari menu and try to select Preferences, I get teh spining beach ball for a goof 60-90 seconds. I have deleted Safari caches, tunred off all extensions and removed all internet plug ins without success. I called Apple and they told me to re-install the OS without success. This is not resolved with setting up a "test" account or booting into "safe mode".

Any thoughts?

Thanks

AJ

Could this be a wifi problem?

Do -other browsers- connect to the net and work ok?

Have you tried a "safe boot" (power down, boot with shift key held down)?
Does Safari exhibit the same problems after doing that?

[doublepost=1536420129][/doublepost]Yes, I have tried that and wi-if seems ok., I did a safe boot without help. Apple was helpful but no solution. Went back to beginning and did a SMC reset and that did the trick. Very odd but now seems ok.
Thanks for the suggestions and help.
