My last problem with Sonoma: every action with desktop, opening preview file, interaction with browser (Firefox dedicated user here), interacting with system setting always produce beachballing effect. This is happening despite doing a clean install after originally upgrading from Ventura.

It's very annoying the more one interacts with the OS. Anything I could do...maybe Apple/option PR... Equipment: Macbook pro 2018 32GB RAM...

Tried EtreCheck but have the free version...

So, I have reset the SMC...now, watching it for a few days as it's not has annoying as before...still too early to say whether it's fixed though.

So, after watching the activity monitor, it seems that it's the user window server coupled with this desktop motion graphics that is causing the constant beachballing. It's not fixed with the SMC reset...

Cannot believe I am the only one experiencing this on an Intel 2018 MBP with 32GB RAM

Had a similar issue on my M1 MBP. Signing out of iCloud fixed it for me. Worth a shot.

Hmm...I have not signed in nor wanted have anything in the cloud...seems that it makes sense in light of passkey. Maybe, I'll sign in and sign out...

I am hesitant to implement passkey as I believe the public should be stored in one's private cloud or in one's router/firewall, especially if one has a robust router/firewall such as Mikrotik or pfSense, etc.

Signed out and back in...I'll monitor for the rest of the day...thanks for responding.

It seems that VirtualBox is a problem according to EtreCheck. I had re-installed the app since I have several VMs; however, the problems continues and EtreCheck still suggesting that the app is a problem.

The other problem seems to be Microsoft one drive despite removing it after installing Microsoft Office...maybe it's time to remove office and just use what Apple provide...Page which I rarely use. Then, there are unsigned app, such as Hikvision IVMS 4200 for MAC that I use to monitor camera...I had re-installed that also...
