Does anybody out there use Beamdog - http://www.beamdog.com/

I purchased Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition via them and now I cannot play the game and they do not answer e mails :(

I decided to go back and Play but need to reinstall the game, between my time of playing I changed my mail address, my old address no longer exists, and I need to login to change my password which had also been forgotten. I went to their site only to find that the account details have no option to change e mail address.

So I mailed their support regarding this over a week ago, still awaiting a response.

Avoid these people because they are totaly useless.

I am now at the end of my tether with all this online client reliant software DRM S***.

EDIT: I posted on the Baldur's Gate Enhanced official forums and got e mailed pretty fats by some from Beamdog is trying to resolve my issue.

Sorry to hear your problems. I never had an issue with them. You might have better luck on their forums as they are pretty active there.

Are you talking about the client, or the Launcher? The client is not required (doesn't even exist on the Mac) and I may be remembering this incorrectly but the Launcher is DRM-free.

I click on the game Icon and it opens a launcher/Client that requires me to enter my mail address and a password before I can play, how is that DRM free ?

Also looking through their forum does not instill any confidence either, there are posts there asking them questions from over a month ago still awaiting a response, even ones going back right up to to 3 years ago.

Their website just seems deserted to say the least, looks to me like they appeared to ride on the back of the Baldur's Gate I and II remakes and have now gone, the site is so amateur as well.

Did you install the game previously? There are two apps, the game launcher (called Baldur's Gate Launcher) and the actual game itself, called Baldur's Gate. When you download the game from their site, you're just downloading the launcher. This will require you to type your name and password to install the game.

Once you have the game installed, though, it works offline and you don't need any login information, except for updates (edit: maybe not––I ran the Launcher and it checked for updates and didn't ask for info, so I'm guessing you don't have the game installed?). The game exists in /Applications/Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition/Game Data/some number/

Not that this helps you for this problem or excuses Beamdog in any way, but you might consider looking into a password manager. Can't recommend 1Password enough.

Well that's sad to hear, they were very active when the Mac port was released.

If you are still having issues you might try the lead developer's twitter, @TrentOster.

Yes I did have the game installed but I need to re install it, and to that I need to login into my Beamdog account.

Sorry changed my OP.

He also admits that their website is a mess at the moment.
