Hey guys!

I just purchased my shiny new MacBook Pro for my Freshman year of college, and got it loaded up with everything needed, coupled with my Windows Vista Home Basic on Parallels (just in case). I used BearShare subscription music service to download DRM'd music, and would re-encode them as DRM-free MP3's for my iPod. It seems that everything in BearShare downloads fine, but finalization of the tracks fails each time (I'm guessing BearShare puts the DRM'd license on during this last stage of downloading and this is what is failing...)

I would like to continue using this method if possible, since all my ID3's and album arts are PERFECT with BearShare, so if I can re-encode on Paralells and then transfer to my Mac that would be good.

If this isnt possible I'd LOVE to hear a more "Mac compatible alternative" that has no DRM restrictions( Not sure if iTunes does anymore....)

Thanks for helping out a new Mac user!

None of the good ones seem to play well with the Mac. There are plenty of applications that do the completely illegal stuff that BearShare used to/still does, but your thread will be locked if the discussion goes there as it violates the rules.

Oh no , rest assured I paid $7.50 a month for a subscription service thru BearShare, the tracks that are downloads had DRM on them and I just re-encoded them with a standard PC mic.... What I was doing was legal as anything. I've learned from experience that illegal music downloading kills your computer, so I've stayed far far away....

If there's no way on Parallels to continue with BearShare, is their a mac alternative I could use (That is still legal of course.)
