Is that real? I know it says it is on the blog, but is it? And if so, where will it be released?

Yeah, it's real. It comes with all the Beatles albums too... on cd.

And it's only from Bloomingdales for $800!!!!!

I'd buy one, but I think rent is more important.

From Bloomingdale's website:
Limited Edition Ultimate Collector's Box: Beatles iPod Set. The ultimate Beatles collector's gift. Includes a numbered 120G iPod in classic black etched with the Beatles' logo on the front and Abbey Road on the back. Includes 13 original Beatles' CDs, plus two masters and the "Love" CD, all with an engraved guitar pick. Packaged in a box designed by Psycho Bunny. Only 2500 available.

Yeah. Good idea, too expensive.

Once the Beatles eventually come to iTunes, I'd expect Apple to make a Beatles iPod. And hopefully, it won't be $800.

I bet it's that much because they only made 2k of them.

The Beatles will be in the iTunes store just in time for the 50th anniversary of their debut in America, I predict.
Yawn.

I wonder if actually putting the catalog on iTunes will allow a new generation to explore their Beatlemania ... or if it'll just be a bunch of old people buying the same music over and over again.

We all agree that the Beatles will at some point be on iTunes, right?

But they're already on my ipod... and many others, I'd guess

I don't see why this is such a big deal. If the record companies dont want to make money (and you'd have to think some of them actually think like that) they'll just leave it on CD.

The world won't stop if The Beatles aren't on iTunes.

Buy the CD and rip em if you want them on your iPod. No DRM, 320kbps if you want :)

There are a lot of other great CDs/vinyl that aren't on iTunes and probably never will be. Copy them yourself if you want. It isn't that hard.

Or be like a lot of other people who are downloading stuff via torrents. Amazing what's available illegally when no one wants to sell it properly anymore...

If I was running a record company, I'd be making sure every major online store had my artists ready and willing for download. It seems silly they will sell non-DRM MP3 versions to Amazon users but not to Apple. Apple even put purchase info in non-DRM versions (m4a) tracks so piracy would be less likely or trackable. THAT would be the route I'd be taking. About time some of the guys running major record companies got the heads out of their bottoms...

Whatdowewant?
Full music catalogues, all countries, high quality, non-DRM, online NOW :)
