How much money did they lose but not doing this years ago? The longer they wait, the less they will receive. The next generation of music listeners may not even like it.

Or have gotten everything Beatles by other means.

I can imagine people are waiting until iTunes releases the songs. Other people will discover the songs while browsing the store and learn to enjoy them. I knew most of the songs from my childhood and finally bought everything when the albums were released on CD for the first time somewhere in the eighties. I still have those CD's and enjoy the songs which are now on my powerbook/iPod from time to time.

Not necessarily, it was only about a month ago that I bought the last Beatles CD I need to own all of their officially released material, it didn't even cross my mind to wait for them to be on iTunes (of course I could just be part of a minority :p)
I'd imagine they won't be on the store until at least the remastered albums are released, although that may be some time considering they were first announced a couple years back when Aspinall was still in charge of Apple Corps.
