I experienced the same issue with my Beats Fit Pro as many others (see examples below) - the “wingtip” eventually tears way from the rest of the earbud through normal use.

This is apparently a design and/or manufacturing defect. Of course Apple still charged their $29 AppleCare+ “service fee” for replacement earbuds  I guess I’m wearing them wrong (TM).

v.1 of Apple hardware, even earbuds, are “beta” - just like APP1 early adopters discovered.

That looks like pressure upwards (as opposed to downwards when in the ear) causing a tear - looking at some of the links you have sent - look the same. I wonder if that is a combination of pressure on the wingtips in the case and by lifting them out of the case by the wingtip (instead of by the body)?

Probably a costly replacement if you go to Apple now (if out of warraty) so I'd be putting a dab of super glue on them now while your tear is not too bad.

My wife wears her BFP a lot less than I do and ran into the same defect (hooray for AppleCare).

I don’t care what any of you Apple apologists say, this is a design and/or manufacturing defect. Which means Apple will never own up to it.

It's the design risk and flaw. It was already a bad idea from the start to just glue a flimsy silicon wingtip into a hard plastic body. In other brands, most of these wingtips are removable and replaceable, but of course Beats tried to be creative and glued it directly into the buds! This crack will happen over time, no matter how careful you are. And because it's not replaceable, once it's happen, it's FUBAR.

Shame, I love BFP for what it is, it's a better workout buds than AirPods Pro, but this design flaw is hurting customers.
