I currently have a pair of Airpod Pro's and I'm considering getting a secondary set of something wireless. Right now I bounce between a MacBook Pro, iPhone, iMac and an Apple TV using the AirPod Pro's but I'm looking for a backup option that's headphone based for when the batteries run down. A lot of the times I'm watching TV via the AirPod Pros while working while my wife is on on Zoom calls.

I'm very tempted to get the Beats Solo Pros since they are on sale but I'm also tempted to wait for the AirPod Studio Pro's or whatever Apple might call their studio headphones. The rumors keep saying maybe this year. I'm looking at the Beats Solo since they have the H1 chip and hold hopefully work pretty seamlessly between all my Apple devices.

Should I just go for the Beats Solo Pro's or should I wait? Anyone hear anything to indicate that the Studio Pro's will be that much of an improvement?

At $229 I’ll get the beats solo pro over whatever Apple produces for over ears UNLESS you want over ears. Heck I’ll sell you my beats solo pros with Apple care for $240 shipped.

After the APP, I don't trust Apple anymore with headphones/earphones. I say go with something from Sony.

I have the Solo 3 and really like them. I'm interested to see what the Apple OTE headphones look and sound like, but I don't use my Solo 3 all that often (I use my AirPods) so will probably not bother upgrading. What I like about the Solo 3 (and this would also apply to the Solo Pro) is like the AirPods, they auto-negotiate with my Apple devices.

Solo Pro is overall a good option. Share most key features with the AirPods Pro, a bit better sound quality due to larger speaker driver, and insane battery life.. The only concern for me was folding mechanism would break down over time since it's also work as power switch. Breaking folder means crapped out $300 headphones.

Solo Pro already sound good without ANC/transparency because passive isolation works pretty well. So most of the time I just turn off noise control and enjoy 40 hours battery life instead. The only time I need ANC is probably for long travels.

I'd buy the Solo Pro over whatever StudioPods that has only been rumors so far. It's pretty comfy for an on-ear. Not going to feel as good as an over-ear, but I only use it for 2-3 hours top. So, no problem.

Tough one. Sounds like you want to stay in the Apple ecosystem (Same here). If you have $ to blow, get the Solo. Get the AirPod Studios whenever they come out and then sell your Solos on FB marketplace (people are more forgiving that they’ve already been worn) or eBay. Justify to yourself that you can put that $ towards Apple Studios. You can probably also find refurbed Beats Studio 3 online To quench your thirst in the meanwhile.
