See photo below. Has anyone ever seen this before and, if so, do you happen to know how to re-seal it? They still work, but I'm concerned about their longevity in this state. The battery is in this same 'compartment' so it seems like it is meant to be pried open, but I cannot get it to snap shut.

As a side note, I bought a pair of Sony XM4s to try and replace these but the bluetooth connectivity is sketchy, comfort is worse, and the call quality is terrible, so I'll probably return them. The ANC and overall sound quality does blow the beats away, though, but not enough to justify paying $300.

...yes, I've considered superglue, but I just wanted to ask around on the interwebs before using that option :p

For a pair of 350 dollar headphones, the build quality and sound quality on these are just abysmal. I have two pair that I received over the past couple of years when they were free with a Mac student purchase. Ear pads fell apart on one of them, and the headband snapped at the joint that folds on the other.

Oh, totally agreed. Luckily I just use them for casual gaming and random GoTo/Teams/Zoom/whatever calls for work, which they are good enough for. I also got them on a student Mac purchase, so the price was right.

Free is definitely the right price. I just can't believe people pay 350 for these.

Yea I’ve gotten really good at replacing the headband on those - snaps every 3 months or so even with taking good care of them. Have replaced the ear pads once, that seemed to be normal wear.

I do hope AirPods Max have some way of replacing that headband no idea how long that will last? Surely not being plastic or having a hinge will help durability.

Hello there! Did you happen to figure out the best way to fix this? Just saw that mine also are separating where the lights/battery is and I cant seem to close it.

This happened to mine a while back but my solution was to have the, replaced under warranty since I’d had them less that 9 months when it happened. They’ve hele up a year or so since but I don’t use them much. I agree the build quality sucks on them
