Beats Studio Buds -- able to automatically connect to iPhone?

Hi all,

If you add the Beats Studio Buds to an iPhone, will they always automatically connect when you put them in your ears? I can't find a definitive answer online, and I've seen reports about firmware upgrades but the most they say is that they enable one-touch pairing. To me this implies that you still have to push something on the phone to make the connection work.

Basically I'm looking for something that behaves like my AirPods Pro -- where you just pop them in your ear and they automatically connect to the phone without having to touch the phone, and when you take them out, they disconnect. Do the Beats Studio Buds do that?

On the official Beats website, it says they automatically connect:
