Beats Warranty Repair

I took my Beats Solo 3 in for repair last week as the glue to hold the rubber piece to the rest of the headband was coming loose. My headphones still had a 1-year warranty. I returned to the store today to collect my headphones and found that they had been replaced instead. Just curious, would the replacement be new or refurbished? Thanks
