Hey guys this is pretty nice. Just replace your BarDialer_sel.png in the mobilephone.app with this one and you get a beautiful background for your dialer.

Oh yes, you don't see the white hue once on the phone, part of the transparency settings.

Well, all of his files, and the original file, are .png....not.jpg. You'll want to probably replace it with a .png.


OP--can you give instructions on howto do this to someone who doesn't have an iPhone to test it on? Personally, I think it'd be cool to offer up some of my photos as dialer backgrounds...

You need to have photoshop to make the dialer. If you have and are interested I can tell you how, a little bit complicated but not to bad. Also if you have some photo's you want me to do PM me and I will send you my e-mail, make them for you and post it.

There are a bunch of ways but this way is the best.

Once your iphone is "hacked" to gain access you just rename the dialer you like to BarDialer_sel.png and then navigate your apps folder, mobilephone app directory and replace the existing BarDialer_sel with the one you want. Might want to make a backup while your at it. Anyway cyberduck or fubu are the ftp programs you will use to drag and drop files on the iPhone just like uploading to a web server. Really very easy once you get the swing of things.

Don't forget though, if you mod you will have to restore your phone back to factory before you can update when Apple releases a new update.
