I don't mean to over take this thread, but I have one question. Does having this App running all the time kill battery life?

Nope I haven't noticed any difference in battery life.

You don't need MobileMe you can use any email address for "push" but for it to be real "push" you will need an email client like MobileMe that will push the notification to you. Yahoo mail has push and works flawlessly with this Exchange email addresses also work with this.

I can't believe this wasn't put in this update!!
Oh well, the other stuff is nice, I guess -- but not being able to transfer images is so far the biggest flaw in this app.
Still the best chat app out there, but hope image support comes sooner rather than later...

I am still getting the keyboard lag with the latest Beejive update. is it because the processor power in the iPhone isn't high enough that's causing the keyboard lag??

What I don't get is why doesn't blackberry have the keyboard lag problem and us iPhone users have to suffer with it. I dunno if I am the only one that is experiencing the problem. Everytime after I send a message and type something new, I will experience a lag in between.. not just that, changing chat box usually comes with a lag as well!!

So my question: is the iPhone's processor(or the iphone in general) capable of running beejive smoothly?? Or is it just simply impossible??

On their forum I asked about image transfer they said it would be real transfer not upload to a server send a link kind. In other words if you send an image from the iPhone to another iPhone user (using beejive) it would download to their Camera Role. If you send an image with the iPhone to someone on a computer it would send normal and vice versa. It's taking them a bit of time figuring this out I guess.

I have no lag. Black Berry doesn't have keyboard lag because they are physical keys.

I have about 46 apps. Categories speeds up my phone a good deal by putting everything into folders.

After reinstalling it, I am still getting the keyboard lag. :-( what's worst is that I have lost all my chat logs. I will probably post a problem in their dicussion forum and seek for help.

They've never made any promises about Push Notification, they've been very honest that once Apple enables it they'll incorporate it. Its nothing like MobileChat.. they aren't misleading anyone. The technology isn't there and theres nothing they can do about it.

What sucks about the smiley update is that you have to actually start typing something in order to use them. What if you just want to send a smiley and not type anything else? You have to type something, select the smiley, then delete the letter you used to bring up the chat bubble.

He meant Apple were being like Mobilechat not Beejive, like it was supposed to be in 2.1 but then got removed with the assumption it would be in 2.2 but there has been no rumor on it being part of the 2.2 builds released to developers.

the current workaround is to type a space on the keyboard, and then pop the emoticon picker. the typed space will get automatically truncated in the actual message sent.

Just tried the spacebar. It's a good workaround.
