I'm looking to buy a Instant Messaging App with Push Notification but i'm not sure which one would be the best... I DO know that Push Notification is not available for Beejive (But it's under review with Apple) and Meebo app is not even on the market yet but hopefully getting released sometime in the near future.

My question is whether I should wait until Meebo comes out or buy Beejive now for $9.99?

Your thoughts and what features you like and dislike about both "Products"

Thanking you all in advance

I don't know enough about Meebo such as price and features, but I can tell you that having used Palringo, Mobile Chat, IM+ and Beejive, Beejive is the best one that I have used. The interface is very 'official' in that it feel like it could have been an official iPhone App that came with the phone, and it is very easy to use.

So I can highly recommend Beejive to you, as you can also send Voice Files and Photos within your chats, and it can integrate all the IMs that you use into one easy to manage buddy list. Also, with push coming to Beejive when it gets approved which I'm sure won't be too long, it is definitely a great App. Don't be put off by the price tag, as when Push Notifications come out, you will use it so much that it may even save you a bit of money on text messages.

Like I said, I don't know much about Meebo's impeding App, but I can definitely recommend Beejive, especially at the sale price that they have it at right now. Hope that has been of some help to you.

I already have BeeJive, but I don't really like the pop-up input field bubble. I wish it had a regular text field like MobileSMS.app

I'm going to check out Meebo when that comes out.

Is there even a preview of Meebo out? If not, how can anyone here make that judgement?

Yes, I hope that update gets through soon... I am not a beejive user, but i rely on a mate of mine to contact me through beejive... (grumble and complain)

Since Meebo isn't out like you stated, it would be quite hard to compare the two.

I have used the Internet Browser Meebo and was impressed. However, this does not mean the App would be anything like it. Without this knowledge, it would be near impossible to compare. All your going get in this thread is to go for the obvious, Beejive. Because it is actually out and has a large user base of customers that enjoy it.

My personal opinion: Unless you have to have a IM client now, then wait until either Beejive is updated with Push, or wait for Meebo. I have high expectations of Meebo and im sure it will deliver that in due time. Patience is a virtue :)

I have beejive and Palringo, and if they get push for Palringo, I would use that more than any other. I will say, that in the pre-app days, I loved Meebo as a Web App, and if it's like that when it comes out, That would be my choice. Meebo w/push would rock.
