Finally got the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro, but recently I’ve noticed even while plugged in my battery drains fast. Is this a common or known problem?
I was on iPad OS 14 but upgraded to 15 but still drops while plugged in… is that a normal occurrence for the M1? Does it depend on what I have open, brightness, or just whatever I am doing? I really hope it is a software issue as I don’t want to play the return game, lol.

Not common, mine is 11” iPP M1 / iPadOS 15.7. I only disabled almost all apps in “Background App Refresh” and “Notification”.

Not common. I've always been able to charge and use iPads at the same time. As long as you're using the power brick that came with the model you have (or something more powerful), you shouldn't have this issue.

can something like what I had a problem with be caused by software? it drained when I was using procreate, sketchbook, Pixelmator, safari, music, notes, and Phonto. Could using all those at the same time with brightness at 75% have caused it either?

I don’t want to play the AppleCare refurbished iPad game if I can help it…

So I updated from IPadOS14 to 15 and it charged really fast, but i only had my art and music apps open in the background while surfing safari… I guess I’ll need to test it out now.

Smart. I had to exchange my iPad 2 like 3 times back in the day for dead pixels, and I feel like every time they would give me a unit in worse physical condition than the last.
