Beep when opening Launchpad

Does anyone else get a sound effect when opening Launchpad?

I can get the same effect by making sure I've selected the finder app and then hitting CMD and Escape together.

Happens on both my iMac and MBP

I wonder if there's a problem with one of the apps. I'd check the console log to see if any error message is being logged.

Either check the console as the poster above says, or create a new temporary user account. Does it still happen in the new user account? If it does then it something more specific with your account.

It happens on both my iMac and MBP. The only thing I can find in the console at the time of the noise is:
