You have had so many problems with your imac, GO TO AN APPLE STORE. The shutting down, and now this, and probably countless others that I have to search through your profile for. Your computer is broken. (sorry if you are taking this in a bad way, just some advice )

imacintel said:Ok, I was just told by apple that I need a logic board replacement.

If the sound is what I'm imagining, it's not beeping--that's one of the internal motors moving around (either the optical head positioning itself, or the disc motor spinning up. It just sounds a little like a beep. Perfectly normal.chris516 said:I have the same beeps every time I put a CD into my SuperDrive. Nothing's wrong with it, though.

You are like...If I turn everything off in the room, put my ear on the back of my iMac while standing on my head and drinking Tequila, I can almost hear clicking when I open a Word file that has a number in the file name.
Not trying to be mean, but come on.
imacintel said:Thanks. This thing is a lemon. Maybe return it to lululemon?
Anyway, godda wav file for ya, you can just barely hear the beep. I took it on my creative zen voice recorder. It iz zipped.
