I have an early 2008 15" MacBookPro (modelA1260) with an issue on the display and i want to ask what is worth removing (apart from the hdd and memory) before chucking it to the bin.

Don’t chuck it to the bin, there are still things in there that are really bad for the environment. List it on eBay with a description of what’s wrong with it and sell it for $10 so someone can reuse the parts if it’s really worth nothing to you, or take it to a local computer repair store, they’ll either be able to use the parts or recycle them more safely than just binning it.

Of course it wouldn't be the plain bin, but the recycling one.
Regarding ebay, i dont wish to spend not even one penny for shipping... its not worth it.

Still can't tell if you literally mean "recycling bin", because if you put it in any bin it's not going to get recycled. A recycling plant doesn't know what to do with a Mac logic board from 2008.

If you put it on eBay you can ask the buyer to pay postage. Someone somewhere might have some use for it. Or like I said, a local Mac repair shop if you have one, even if they can't use it for anything they'll be able to recycle it properly.

Also if I remember correctly that's the last MacBook pre-unibody isn't it? Apart from the RAM and hard-drive and battery, which is presumably spent by this point, I can't remember that there were any other accessible components for you to remove and do anything with.

Regarding the Ram, will it work on an old Mac Mini (late 2009 model?)

No. The RAM in the Macbook Pro 15" 2008 is DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz SODIMM. Mac mini late 2009 uses PC3-8500 1067MHz SODIMM memory modules.

What about the DVDdrive... worth taking that out maybe? Would it be an upgrade if it would be installed on the early 2009 mini?
Or can i have it in some kind of enclosure perhaps as an external optical drive?

The optical drive in this model is an IDE drive. Worthless in 2020, imo.

Worthless for 2020 but i was thinking of placing it to an early 2009 mini... dont know if it would be an upgrade for the existing DVDdrive placed in that mini.

They are not interchangeable. The 2009 mini uses a 12.7mm SATA SuperDrive. The Macbook Pro 15" 2008 uses a 9.5MM PATA / IDE SuperDrive. Also wouldn't really be an upgrade, as both have the same read/write capabilities if I recall correctly, just using a different interface.
