Before I Jailbreak...

Hey guys. As you can see, I'm a new member. I've had my iPhone 3Gs for about 4 days now and I had a question.

Before I jailbreak, what are the advantages? After the jailbreak, can I still update my software? I don't want to miss out on the MMS update or anything else because I wanted to jailbreak my phone. Thanks a lot and I love this place!

MMS will be enabled by AT&T not by a software update, it will just start working. 3.0/3.0.1 already has the capability of MMS. I'm not going to discuss the advantages, as there are a TON of threads about that same topic. The advantages are many. When there are OS updates you have to wait for the Dev Team to release a jailbreak for the new software, but they are usually very quick about it.
