Hi,

I'm a beginning dev and have a stupid question but would like your advices :)
I currently only own a laptop and iPhone. I test my stuff on these. I have created a partition for Lion since DP1. I haven't tried iOS 5 yet.

However now I'd like to use more often Lion instead of using SNow Leopard and sometimes boot into Lion. Same for iOS 5 since I would like to test my App with the iCloud stuff.

My question: do you consider it safe to install Lion as my main and only OS from now on and iOS 5 as my... well only OS on my phone? So I can test my stuff more efficiently but that also means I need my computer and phone to work correctly if I want to simply do regular work.
I'm a current MobileMe subscriber so the transition to iCloud should work without interruption of email etc, right?

Thanks!

If you need to rely on your computer and phone for day to day activities. I wouldn't load the beta on. I've seen enough posts in the iPhone forum to warrant such concern. Plenty of threads about stability and advise in how to roll back to 4.3

THanks for your advice. And regarding Lion? A friend of mine (dev as well) already tried DP4 and told in his opinion it is very stable.

And if I install Lion now what about the upgrade once it will be available in App Store? I will need to download it and simply upgrade or will I need to wipe the OS as well?
Thanks!

The OS may be very stable, but there is no telling any if your Apps will be stable.
