Is it intended that when you tap the widget it ALWAYS jumps to the 'Discover' section instead of the playlist I'm in respectively my library?

AFAIK, It opens in the main screen for the album, playlist or song playing. I wish it would open to Now Playing.

BTW, are you an Apple Music subscriber?

Yes, I am a subscriber.

Sure, it shows the album but at the same time it always jumps to the Discover tab. When the music app is running in the background that is and I tap the widget to get back in.

Why would I want to discover something new when playing songs from my library/playlists? Makes not much sense to me.

Not experiencing this myself. It goes to whatever album/playlist/station I tap. Perhaps remove the widget and re-add or sign in/out of music?

I’ve added a video of what is happening. Look at what happens the second time I tap on the widget. Tapping the upper left corner does nothing.

How do I logout of Apple Music? There’s no option for that.

Not sure I see anything unusual there. But you cannot log out of Apple Music without logging out of App Store or even your Apple ID. What you need to log out is the ID you are using for Apple Music.

Tried it, didn’t change anything.

Look, what it should do is jump to the same place in the music app where I was when I left it.

Say, if I go to my library, choose a song and leave the music app, then go back in, it should be at the position in the app where I left it. It jumps to a different position instead. I have to tap on library in order to go back to my preferred list of music and browse further. This happens EACH time I leave the app and I find it very inconvenient.

I see. It’s a shame that iOS 14 does not address this particular use case, which would be very logical.

I think it’s insane that the widget doesn’t change to show now playing with forward and back arrows so that you can skip a song.

I truly hope that they change it until Golden Master. I also reported this via the Feedback app. Give them beta feedback!

I’ve noticed by chance that when in airplane mode and Wi-fi off I can see my now playing album in small widget, and last 5 albums played in the medium one. Brilliant that’s how I think it should be. ( how I’d like it to be!!) Once I connect to the mobile/Wi-fi network it defaults to the browse category of Apple Music and my last played albums from Apple Music through my Sonos Beam. Surely this isn’t how it’s supposed to be? Pants if so.
