hi! I just got a macbook pro yesterday, and i've always been a mac user, last time i had a windows they ran windows 98 (scary stuff uh?), and i was a happy man, but now it seems i need some windows stuff, and since i'm NOT going to get one, i want to know how to make boot camp work, what do i need? what do i do? does it hurts? i mean, of course it does, but does it hurts badly?

I bet this is answered somewhere in this place, but i can't find it, those guides on the top are more like a history of boot camp and stuff. So, if someone could just send me a link or something... I'd be really thankful

Apple provides somewhat decent documentation within the Boot Camp Assistant itself.

It's not much more difficult then knowing how to install Windows.

You will need a copy of Windows (I recommend XP, and Service Pack 2 will be needed for Boot Camp). This lets you choose Mac/Windows every startup of the Macbook. It allows you to run Windows as well as your Macbook can, but you will have to restart to get to the Mac side.

On the other hand there is virtualisation with two main competitors: VMWare Fusion and Parallels. These let you run both Windows and OSX at the same time, but it will not run much 3D at all, and each side is slower than they would be without the other OS. The advantage is that you do not need to reboot to change.

well i'm member of a few forums here and there and it's awful when someone comes in just to ask a question, much more when it's an obvious one like i knew this one would be haha, so I was just warning ya!
Still I haven't gotten a copy of any windows version, so I'm yet to find out how that works. Ugly I am sure...
