Lately, I've gotten a lot of feedback from people that I sound like I'm in a tunnel when I'm on the phone with my AirPod Pros in. I don't hear it when I record voice memos. I do clean out the earwax in the buds frequently. I don't see anything obvious when I look at the Airpods.

Is it possible it's my carrier? Could it be that my buds are at end-of-life? Is there something else I should consider? I'm out of warranty, so while I'd consider going to the Apple Store, I suspect they're going to tell me I just need to buy another pair, and I'd rather wait to see what's coming out in a few months before doing that.

Anyone else go through this?

IMO, that type of sound is due in part to a bad connection. My spouse sounds like that at times and she is holding the phone to her ears.
Interesting. That actually matches what I'm seeing, then. I use a cell phone repeater to boost my signal strength, as my apartment is not close to a tower. Perhaps that's why I'm having problems. Thanks for that.

If you have a cabled/fixed internet connection, you could also try Wifi Calling if your provider allows it. That’ll bypass your cell phone repeater.
