wanted to give a quick review on this awesome stand
I wanted an all in one charger/stand for my iPhone 6 and new Apple Watch 2. I also wanted the magnetic charger to be includdd because I travel a fair bit so need the OEM charger loose to carry, didn't want to fiddle with taking it out of the casing whenever I needed to go somewhere.
Looks
Great looking stand! Silver/chrome finishing makes it look very "Apple". It's solid too, packs a lot of weight so I can lift my phone off or the watch without moving the stand all over. Padded feet prevent it from slipping on my smooth wooden bedside table
Function
- Does what it says...charges both devices. I have one less cord on the table and that's a win for me! Some other stands have a USB in the back which would allow you to plug in a peripheral. I agree that may be nice but then you'd have cables running around again. This is nice and clean and reduces clutter.
- It has a small adjustable dial on the back to raise the lightning cable up or down to accommodate cases. I have a very thin bumper case so it isn't an issue for me but those of you with big otterbox cases would be fine.
- There's a removable white ring on the way charger. This is meant for bands that are heavier like the metal ones so that it reduces the weight dragging the Watch off the charger. It works well even with my Moko silicone strap so I left it on.
Issues
- Some criticize it for not being able to use the nightstand feature. But to be honest the phone is right there and pressing the button once tells me the time, so that's an easy fix.
- My only gripe is that if the phone is on the stand and it vibrates, it amplifies the vibration and can be quite loud. I personally only put it on there when I'm going to bed so it's on DND mode by that time anyways but may be an issue for those using it in an office setting.
In all, wry happy with this stand. Belkin has the powerhouse stand out now but it doesn't look as premium as this, looks a bit too plasticy for me, but I'm sure functions just as well.
