Anyone have thoughts on this stand? The Apple store exclusive one not the plastic cheap one sold on Amazon. Thought it might be decent to use with the S3. Or should I just wait for the enviable wireless one for the iPhone X.

Just bought one today from the Apple store. Seems like a well designed and built dock, love how heavy it is and that the lightning connecter can be raised or lowered depending on the case the phone is it. It's pretty expense but you get what you pay for I suppose.

Thanks for the replies. This is definitely a charging station I'm interested in. But I feel since it hasn't been updated in awhile and with the iPhone X right around the corner Belkin may update this unit. I'm going to hold off to see if a revision happens. Personally I would like to see it have USB ports in the back to charge other devices.

I wouldn’t expect a redesign unless it is mimicking apples mat charger that is coming out. If you want a stand for the phone/Watch, there is also Belin’s powerhouse. Different design, but similar functionality to the valet.

I have this and like it a lot. Although as reviews there state and so did others in this thread, it can be tricky to get the phone on the connector. In the light it isn’t an issue. In low light or dark... good luck.

what material is used for the part that "touches" the back side of the phone?
im using a jet black phone and don't use a case. so would like to use something that doesn't scratch the back of the phone.

There’s a strip of soft black rubber attached to the horizontal support on my Belkin Valet. iPhone rests against this.
i wonder if the power house uses the same soft black rubber where its "black" on the powerhouse unit.

Not entirely sure. I’d guess it is some sort of plastic underneath, but the surface feels soft and if you tap on it a bit spongy. Can’t imagine it’d scratch anything or rub off. My phone is naked too, albeit the space gray and not jet black.
